It does this by displaying solid colour screens that illuminate any inconsistencies in the behaviour of the pixels. During the change of colors on the display, the function pixels change in color. If a pixel is damaged, however, then it won't respond and will remain black no matter what is behind it. This simplifies the detection of even one single ‘bad’ pixel. These detectors are typically employed when purchasing a brand new gadget or perhaps examining a screen issue, to verify if it is a hardware, software, or content issue.
